Loafers

Loafers for Women

The current shoe trends show more and more that fashion can also be comfortable. The best example of this is the loafer. The loafers are absolute classics and even though they were invented for the men's world, they have long since landed on the feet of fashion-conscious women. Just like moccasins, they belong to the group of loafers, but the difference is that they have a heel and usually do not have laces. The open shape and the high-quality leather provide the comfort we need in everyday life.

Where does the loafer come from?

The name of the loafer originated with Norwegian farmers who wore the loafers when tending to their lazy cows. The English term for being lazy, "loafing", then became the loafer. The students who established the shoe in the fashion world, however, had little to do with loafing. They were responsible for the concept of the penny loafer, as they inserted a lucky penny into the slit of the leather strap on the front of the shoe. Since then, the loafer has become an essential part of the fashion world and it's hard to imagine a catwalk without it.

A new approach to classics

Always evolving and reinterpreted, the loafer comes in all shapes and colours. The classic gets a new twist every season, and that doesn't just mean the latest trend colours like royalblue (klein), pink (fuchsia) or green (erba)! The classic even becomes something completely new, like with the unique fusion of loafer and pumps! This version is the eye-catcher of the season, because the high block heel creates a new, irresistible look!

When and where to wear loafers?

Loafers were classically worn with chinos and a button-down shirt to create an elegant look. Today, however, these classics are combined with any outfit. If you love trousers, you can choose between skinny jeans, culotte trousers or trendy mom jeans. In summer, dresses and skirts can also be combined with trendy platform loafers. Whether you want to go stylish or casual is entirely up to your own taste, so you can create your very own look. Even the question of socks becomes a fashion statement! Thanks to their versatility, the shoes cannot be firmly assigned to any season, which also makes them the perfect transitional shoes.
